Health is determined by many factors: biological, behavioral, social, and political. Big disparities in health exist between segments of the population, defined by race, ethnicity, and social class, in addition to many other factors. As we make continued progress in improving the health of the public it is important to focus on the continuing disparities in health. In some instances, disparities are narrowing, but in others, they are widening. This forum is a place where users can share experiences, information, ideas, and resources for anyone working to reduce health disparities.

Local health agencies are reorganizing and re-tooling for improved efficiency and effectiveness in their missions in the coming years.
